I was fired.
Canned, sacked, or the slightly friendlier ‘let go.’
I received a call saying my position was moving across the country. I wasn’t.
That salary? Gone, poof!
Being set free was scary, yes, but also exhilarating. More time for my own projects and pursuits, more room for growth to happen. And grow I did. I gave up things like showering and cooking to work harder than I ever had in my life.
Over the course of the eight weeks following that phone call, I launched two ghostwritten books and one of my own. Landed a book deal. And announced my epic Becoming journey, which culminated in a three-week orphan-hugging trip to India just a few days ago.
Becoming is the e-course I created to set you free in a less dramatic, oh-good-hell-there-went-a-big-chunk-of-my-income sort of way.
Becoming: 9 Weeks to a More Adventurous (Business) Life begins on March 13, 2012.
This class breaks down the steps I took as I reassembled my life from a mishmash of scattered pieces; the questions I asked as I realized that my business life could be joyous, productive, and profitable.
Becoming includes a unique blend of personal and business activities — because what’s ailing YOU could very well be what’s ailing your business. Together, we’ll delve deep into who you are and let your favorite things, your treasured goals, and your core values begin to shape your business life.
Your seat in the Becoming course includes:
– Weekly assignments and worksheets delivered right to your inbox.
Over the course of nine weeks, we’ll define the life you’re seeking, face your fears, and use my best motivating trick to make your goals happen. Making goals happen is the best part!
– Thoughtful journal prompts for each day of the course.
You’ll have a place to dream and a way to address chronic issues through your writing. If you’re writing about your mother-in-law in every post — ding ding ding! — we’ve identified a chronic issue.
– Adventure activities to get you outside of your comfort zone and saying “Yes!” to spontaneity once a week.
These can be completed with or without partners in crime, depending on how you roll.
– Access to a top-secret, completely optional Facebook group.
That’s where Haunani and I hang out to answer your questions and encourage you, too!
– Audio answers to the group’s burning questions.
– All-access photos from the epic orphan-hugging adventure the first Becoming classes funded. From construction to the Chicken Dance, we’ll share our stories and you’ll meet the kids we fell in love with while in India.
The 2012 edition of the course (yes, it’s only happening once!) is just $99 until March 2nd, when the price jumps to $149.
Past classes have sold out quite quickly, so I recommend securing your spot quickly.
Best of all, when 200 Becoming spots have been sold, we’re donating $5,000 to finish the SEAMS Orphanage library in Chennai, India.
Yep, that’s right! You’ll be providing the money to complete the library Haunani worked to build during our time in India by getting a spot in Becoming. (I was off caring for daycare kiddos, and thus did not get to construct, my friend.)
If you’re ready to get your adventure on, grab your spot in class below.
You’ll have immediate access to the Becoming Adventure Guide, Journaling Questions, and Welcome materials, lovely!
But will I dig Becoming, Kristen?
Best way to find out is to sample a bit for yourself. Click here to access the Dream Jobs & $750,000 Skills call and worksheet designed to let you know if Becoming is up your alley.
Becoming is for you if… you’re ready for deep changes in your (business) life and you’re ready to be completely honest with yourself. If you’re interested in creating an authentic and joyful business, we’ll get along nicely.
Becoming is not for you if…you’re looking for in-your-face, drill-sergeant-hardcore tactics requiring no thought or introspection. The questions I ask, the writing I require, and the adventures I suggest are designed to coax your own conclusions out into the open. The answers will not be provided for you.
Want to see what other Becoming members had to say? Straight from our Facebook group, yo.
If you’re ready to get your adventure on, grab your spot in class below.

Even if you aren’t a good candidate for the class, please share the class with someone you know who WOULD be a good fit…it would help us make some orphans’ dreams of a library come true!
